Introduction: Povidone is a white powder, odorless or with a slight odor. It is readily soluble in water, ethanol. It has good hygroscopicity, film-forming property, complexing property and physiological compatibility, and has the ability to compound with a variety of organic and inorganic compounds. It is relatively stable to acids,salts and heat. The liquid products are generally colorless, transparent and viscous.
Application:
√ Hair Care Products: In hair dyes and perming agents, it serves as a dispersant and affinity agent to enhance the durability of the color. In shampoos and hair conditioners, it acts as an excellent surfactant and opacifier, improving the stability of the foam.
√ Skin Care Products: In creams, it has a dispersing and statbilzing effect as well as a thickening effect, which can make the emulsifying system disperse evenly and remain stable without precipitation after long-term storage. In vanishing creams and sunscreens, it can enhance the moisturizing and lubricating effects. In facial masks, it has the functions of moisturizing and accelerating the penetration of the mask ingredients. In sun protection cosmetics, it can improve the rheological properties and help with the dissolution and dispersion of the sunscreens.
√ Makeup products: In eyeshadow, mascara and other cosmetics, it can reduce the stimulation of pigment on the skin.
√ Other products: In shaving cream, can promote the softening of beard and increase the lubrication function; in toothpaste, used as a viscosifier.
